The Lemonade Weight Loss Diet

The lemonade weight loss diet originally came to light in 1941 through a book by Stanley Burrough.  The book recommended that drinking citric juices and fasting would be an effective way to eliminate toxins from the body and lose weight.  At first, many people were skeptical since the book didn't really include how to go about doing this, neither did the book publish any recipes in order to embark on the lemonade diet. In the mid-nineties however, the lemon cleanse was made popular by Peter Glickman by promoting Burroughs' regimen to his audience.

 

The lemonade diet has the main concept of drinking lemon juice in order to decrease the amount of body fat within our body.  The juice and cayenne pepper is meant to also purge the body from excessive toxin with elimination at an increased rate than what is regarded as normal.

 

There are some disadvantages of the lemonade diet in that it does not actually burn body fat, but instead is reduces body muscle, so the user of the diet in actuality is really losing muscle instead of fat, since the muscle is likely used as food supply.  So in essence, this lemonade diet is only advised for usage in a very short time. The lemonade diet pill supplement, however, comes with a special meal and exercise plan which avoids the disadvantages of the original lemonade regimen.

 

Pregnant or nursing women are advised against going on any lemonade or other citrus diets, since the diet can harm their unborn baby and cause complications for them also.  Elderly people are also advised to avoid this diet, due to ph issues as well as health concerns.

 

Due to the nature of the lemonade diet, it is advised that you consult with your doctor before you go on any diet and make sure that your health is in order before attempting this or any other diet.  Your health is the most important thing, and don't go on the lemonade diet if you feel you might be facing a compromise.
